Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening / lard / butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 cup cherry juice

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Mix in order of the list / bake in 350ºF oven for about 40 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.

  2. I like to put the batter in the small loaf pans (1/4 size of normal bread pan) to make individual breads for gifts.
