Applause all around! Kathy Harrison, noted expert on sustainable living prepardness and author is joining the ranks of Lehman's bloggers. We're so pleased to have her expertise.
Author of A Place at the Table, and One Small Boat, both discussing her experiences in foster parenting; and Just In Case: How To Be Self-Sufficient When The Unexpected Happens, Harrison is also known for her appearance earlier this year on National Geographic's "Doomsday Preppers" show, where her peaceful, community-centered approach to self-sufficency put her in stark contrast to many of the other folks profiled in the series.
When we saw Harrison's segment here at Lehmans, we were thrilled to see that she was using one of our cider presses! And after we got in touch with her, it turns out she's been shopping with Lehman's for years. Now that she will be blogging with us, we can take a fruitful partnership a bit further.
You can look forward to Harrison's pieces on food storage and preservation to start out. An expert on using the steam juicer, she uses the equipement efficiently to pull out the maximum yield for jellies and preserves--ideal projects for this time for this time of year. We'll be publishing her material twice a month, so stay tuned! You'll see the first installment this week.
One final note: we've heard that today, Sunday, July 29, is Kathy's birthday. Best wishes for a lovely celebration from your friends at Lehman's!
